8 Important Things We Learned from Eminem’s Latest Interview for “Interview” Magazine

Elton John has recently interviewed Eminem for British magazine, called INTERVIEW. The interview was long and if you didn’t have time to read it, below are the highlights:

 

1. Eminem says REVIVAL is diverse and he tried to make little something for everyone! 

2. When Eminem records an album, he averagely does 50 songs and lots of them don’t make into the albums. 

3. Currently his favorite artists are J. Cole, Travis Scott, Kendrick Lamar, Royce da 5’9,″ Joyner Lucas and Tech N9ne. 

4. Eminem was going to perform “The Storm” at BET Awards’ stage but in the last minute everything changed and they shot the video in Detroit. Eminem wanted it to have the feel of Public Enemy’s “You’re Gonna Get Yours.” 

5. Royce, Boogie, Westside Gunn and everyone who were behind Eminem heard the freestyle for the first time when filming “The Storm.”

6. Eminem says the best advice he has every received comes from Dr. Dre: “You’ve gotta build your house before you can let your friends come in.”

7. Eminem says: “When I played Paul Rosenberg “Not Afraid” for the first time, he wasn’t too fond of it. Then we had a conversation a few days later, and he was like, “Do you think it needs a bridge?” And I was like, “I knew you were going to say that.”

8. Looks like Elton John has already heard REVIVAL cause he said those words: “When this album comes out, people are going to want to hear it. It’s a tribute to your longevity as an artist, your intelligence, your musical and lyrical brilliance.”
