Today, 15 Years Ago, “The Eminem Show” Debuted at #1 on Billboard 200

Eminem’s The Eminem Show premiered at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, selling approximately 284,000 copies in its first 3 days, marking the first time an album had topped the charts with such an abbreviated sales week. It sold 1,322,000 copies the following week, where it registered a full week of sales. The album spun off the Billboard Hot 100 No. 2 smash “Without Me.”


The Eminem show was the best-selling album of 2002 in the United States, with 7.6 million copies sold. Since its release in 2002 the album has sold more than 10,000,000 copies in the United States, received RIAA Diamond certification and sold over 30 million copies worldwide.


Currently the album holds #61 on Billboard 200 and it’s 322nd week for the album being on charts. Making it one of the few album the reach that accolade.
