New Interview: Kendrick Lamar Talks Being Inspired by Eminem



Kendrick Lamar’s fourth studio album DAMN. is on course to become fastest selling album of 2017 with approximately 550,000 copies in its first week, crashing the earlier record held by Drake’s More Life with 505,000 copies.


To promote his album, Kendrick set down with Zane Lowe for Beats 1 interview where he mentioned Eminem: “When I listened to Jay Z coming up as a kid, when I listened to Eminem, Pac, there was things I could not understand but as years progressed and I’m going back listen to it again and again and I’ve learned and I’ve grown, I’ve matured, these things blew me away. When I found out what they were talking about and how certain things connected to another albums and the stories they told growing up in their communities. I want to have same impact. Jay Z, Eminem, Pac I grew up on them.”  Watch the interview below:
