Forbes Lists “Top Earning Hip-Hip Acts Of Past 10 Years”

Forbes Reports: Eminem proved you can still earn nine figures from nothing but music; he cashes in on his extensive catalogue of hits with lucrative live shows.

Though 50 Cent has not appeared on the ranking since 2014 after a 2015 bankruptcy filing decimated his earnings, the Queens native still lands on this list from dollars deposited earlier in the decade. His biggest windfall: Coca-Cola’s $4.1 billion purchase of Vitaminwater parent Glacéau, in which 50 owned a stake. The 2007 sale netted him some $100 million.

Dr. Dre accounted for one fifth of the cumulative $4.5 billion total earned by Hip-Hop Cash Kings in the last 10 years, banking more than any other rap star thanks largely to Apple’s $3 billion Beats buyout in 2014.
