Dr. Dre Did Huge Numbers With ‘Compton’ Album & ‘Straight Outta Compton’ Movie


Dr Dre is 50 years old now and still the DOC is ruling the charts. After 16 years, Dr. Dre released his 3rd studio album ‘Compton’ inspired by N.W.A.’s “Straight Outta Compton” Movie. Below you can see the numbers of first week sales of the album and box office of the movie: 

Billboard Reports:
Dr. Dre’s new Compton album makes a strong start at No. 2 with 295,000 equivalent album units (of which 276,000 are pure sales). Compton also debuts at No. 1 on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums. It’s the 3rd highest selling rap album of this year. After Drake’s If You Are Reading This It’s Too Late (535,000) and Kendrick Lamar’s To Pimp A Butterfly (320,000)… 
Compton also earned Dre #1 spot in the UK charts. 

Apple Reports: 
Dr Dre’s ‘Compton’ was streamed 25 Million times on iTunes music and sold 501,000 downloads in the first week in US.

N.W.A.’s biopic movie ‘Straight Outta Compton’ earns surprisingly huge #1 in the box office charts with $60 Million in 2 days.
