Today, 5 years ago Eminem’s “Recovery” made big news when it arrived on the Billboard 200 chart at No. 1 back on July 10, 2010. It was Em’s sixth chart-topper album and sixth No. 1 in a row and launched with 742,000 copies in its first week. At that point, it was biggest single-sales week of the year for an album.
Eminem’s comeback reached another landmark as his “Recovery” LP was officially confirmed as the United States’ best-selling album of 2010, with 3.45 million copies sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Em had previously nabbed the top-selling album of the year in 2002, when “The Eminem Show” moved 7.62 million.
