D12 Released ‘Devil’s Night’ Today, 14 Years Ago

On this day, exactly 14 years ago (Jun 19, 2001), after Eminem’s huge successful album The Marshall Mathers LP, D12 released their debut album Devil’s Night. It was the first album that was released under Eminem’s Shady Records label. 

The album debuted at #1 on the US Billboard 200 charts with approximately 373,000 copies sold on the week of  its release. It also picked at #2 in the UK Albums Chart. 

Upon its release, Devil’s Night received a score of 58 out of 100 from Metacritics due to mixed or average reviews from music critics. All Music Guide gave the highest score 80 out of 100 and it received the lowest score from Dot Music, 40 out of 100. 

The first single of the album, Purple Pills peaked at #19 in the US Billboard Hot 100 and #1 in US Billboard Rap Songs chart. It also hit #1 in UK and Ireland.
