Despite the fact that Eminem uses homophobic and violent lyrics and has dissed almost everyone and everything in his songs there are a lot of artists who admire Eminem (even after the diss). Slim Shady and Elton John performed “Stan” at the Grammy awards back in 2001 and it was one of the best performances in the history of Grammys.
“From the start, I’ve always admired Eminem’s thinking. That is the reason I wanted to appear on the Grammys with him when I was asked. Eminem has the balls to say what he feels and to make offensive things funny. That is the very necessary today in America, with people being muzzled and irony becoming a lost art. Artists like Eminem who use their free speech to get a point across are vitally important. There just aren’t many people in the world with balls that big and talent that awesome.” – Elton John
“Rap to me is a modern blues. But until we really confront the truth, we are going to have Tupac or Eminem or Biggie Smalls to remind us about it and thank God.” – Stevie Wonder
“If anyone takes Eminem’s lyrics too seriously it is not too cool. I like Stan so much.” – Paul McCartney
“I like the fact that Eminem is brash and angry and politically incorrect. he is stirring things up. He is provoking a discussion. He is making people’s blood boil. He is reflecting what’s going on in society right now. This is what art is supposed to do.” – Madonna
“I don’t care if he dissed me, Eminem is genius” – Britney Spears
